James 4:4 (ESV) “Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” Who are your friends? We all have friends from church, work, even family, but some are better than others some pull us closer to God and some pull us away. Our friendship with the world doesn’t just pull us away from God, like poor friends, but makes us an enemy of God. We know God is holy, pure, and righteous and everyone who watches the news can see how evil and ruined the world is. Christ warns us in Matthew 6:19 that we should not layup treasure in this world. We see this thread in scripture where we are supposed to separate ourselves from the world and be set aside for God and God alone. God desires us, us the sinful faulty humans that He created; God desires to have our heart, soul, and mind. So who is your friend, is it the world is it laying up treasures here living a life for yourself? IF so you may be an enemy of God, and that is the wrong side to be on. Remember to be on the Lord’s side cause this world will someday pass away and only what we have done for heaven will last.
